Reuse

The DME is a member of The California Assistive Technology Reuse Coalition (CATRC) (http://Californiareuse.org) which supports organizations that accept and give out or loan assistive technology (AT) and durable medical equipment (DME) to people in their communities for free or at low cost.

The Mission of the CATRC is:

To create an effective assistive technology/durable medical equipment reuse network that enhances the opportunities for Californians with disabilities to obtain assistive technology and durable medical equipment that empowers them to live more independently, and to enhance and extend the life of assistive technology devices and durable medical equipment that assist in the daily life of all Californians with disabilities by enabling and promoting reuse.
The goal is to build up reuse awareness and to make reuse of assistive technology and durable medical equipment as common as recycling plastic bottles and soda cans.
